General Information

The Official Band Calendar

The band calendar is the source of truth for all band events. Always assume the band calendar is correct if there is a date conflict. Subscribe once and dates update automatically.

Family Portal

Every student should be connected to at least one parent or guardian in the Ashley Bands Family Portal. Use it to keep family contacts and student details current and to complete Ashley Bands requests and forms without repeatedly entering information we already have.

Google Chat

Students receive invitations to their class-specific chats through their school-managed NHCS student accounts. Google Chat functions like a secure school messaging system, and all messages are archived and viewable by NHCS personnel.

Required Items

Instrument

• Personal instruments: case labeled with student name and instrument serial number
• Rental instruments: available through Music & Arts, 2340 S. 17th Street, Wilmington, NC, (910) 791-4799
• School-owned instruments: available as inventory allows
• Marching band instruments: available as inventory allows
• Percussion: snare sticks, practice pad and stand, black hand towel

Clothing

• Concert attire: Musician Black details
• Spirit wear / general attire: official Red Band Shirt and other program spirit wear

• 1-inch black 3-ring binder
• Sheet protectors
• Pencil pouch
• Pencils
• Scissors
• Eraser
• Tuner/metronome: TM-60/CM-200 combo provided; TM-70/CM-400 recommended to own

These books are provided; owning a copy is recommended.
