Carnegie Hall 2027: Your Questions

Chaperones, family tickets, payments and deadlines, and rooming.

Both of Ashley's concert bands, the Concert Band and the Wind Ensemble, perform at Carnegie Hall in New York on Thursday, March 25, 2027. We travel March 23-26. These are the questions families ask most. Each answer reflects what we know as of October 22, 2026, and we'll update this page as answers come in.

Why does this trip matter?

Most musicians never get to play on that stage. Our students earned it, and the plan is to take everyone who wants to go. Every gift lowers the cost for every student.

How much will it cost my family?

No family has been asked to pay yet. We're still raising money to bring the cost down for everyone. The most any traveler will pay is $2,000, and we're working to get that number much lower. If outside money falls short, Mr. Parker will share the options before January 7.

When are the payments and deadlines?

  • Right now: nothing is due from families. The Boosters make the group payments to WorldStrides, our tour company.
  • Group payments: the next group payment is this fall, and the final one is due January 7, 2027.
  • Registration: families will register each traveler in the WorldStrides portal. WorldStrides' deadline is December 13. We'll tell you when it opens.
  • After you register, WorldStrides' cancellation terms apply: $225 through November 22, then 25% of the trip price, 50% from January 7, and no refund from February 7.

Can I chaperone?

The trip has 10 adults: two directors and 8 chaperones. Chaperones pay the same as students for now. If you're interested, contact Mr. Parker.

Can family come to New York?

Yes. Parents and family can come on their own and get themselves to New York and back. We're getting the price and sign-up details from WorldStrides and will post them here.

How do family tickets to the concert work?

Every traveler on the trip has a concert ticket. Family not on the trip buy tickets from the Carnegie Hall box office about six weeks before the concert, around mid-February. The festival guide lists them at $90.

How does rooming work?

Students room 4 to a room, boys with boys and girls with girls. Adults room 2 to a room. The directors are in single rooms.

How can we help right now?

1. Get 10 yeses of $25. A gift or a trade: wash a car, walk a dog, draw a picture.

2. Share your student's link. It's first in the Family Portal under My Carnegie Notes.

3. Donate a raffle prize for the drawing at the Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 8. Offer a prize.

4. Give at Support the Carnegie trip.
